The success and failure of a business to a large extent depends on the way it is started. So, major decisions need to be taken at the starting phase of the business. Here below are some of my tips for starting your successful business.

Tip:1 First of all be clear with what you want to do. Let the business be what you love to do, rather than just a money-making prospect.

Tip:2 Analyze the growth prospects of your business. For a business to be successful growth is more important than money making.

Tip:3 Make sure your business gets good revenue per sale. So, lesser sales would not mean heavy losses.

Tip:4 Make sure your business is something unique. Other company in your business shouldn’t knock you off. Have your own brand.

Tip:5 Finally comes promoting your business. It requires personal selling, customer contact, etc. Make sure you have a sales promotion plan.

Here are few really funny tips I got off the internet on how to run  your business from your office cubicle,

  • Don’t tell your colleagues you are running a business from your office cubicle. They won’t like it that you are runnign a business from the office which is getting you better money them. And someone might just let it leak to management.
  • Don’t blame your management errors on lack of time. Every one  is running less of time. Its not easy to run a business on the time you have along with two squalling kids and a part time job.But you have to learn to managed and delegate or simply postpone. It’s a challenge.
  • There; no need to fell guilty .After all don’t you call the plumber, your mother or even your daycare center to check up.An average Cube worker uses two hours of time just surfing the web.Utilize those two hours constructively.
  • In big offices, its not really necessary to work hard, you just have to look busy. So make sure your work load is less, but look busy by working  hard at your home business.

Whether at the work place or at a social gathering creativity is one term that crop up now and then.  After watching a good movie we are bound to say it was amazing and wonderful. The actors have done it well and the director displayed his creativity once more.

Don’t you think each one of us is creative in our own way?  What about God? Is he not creative? We are one of his best creations. Each one of us in this universe is creative and very special in our own way.

Most people don’t exercise their creativity skills. They follow the already existing lines of thought and ideas. One should be encouraged to think of new ideas, having   different perspectives of the same scenario. Creativity is just not an inborn talent. One can be trained to think creatively.

Creativity has been responsible for most of the inventions of mankind. It is central to research and development. It should be harnessed so that mankind derives maximum benefit from it. The educational system should encourage imagination, novel ideas and original thinking from the students. Creativity is the reason why man is the dominant species on the earth. If one has to solve the current and future problems in the world the tool of creativity is critical.

When you initially set up a business, all you can think about is staying alive. But as time passes and you start taking in business, and your customers start to increase , you start to need employees. And hopefully a day comes when you have to start to think of expansion to deal with the growing number of customers and employees you now have to handle.Expanding your business is a good decision but here are a fewthings to delibrate about before you actually start your ventures,

  1.  Are your competitors expanding ?If so then they may have seen more untapped avenues into different areas which can bring in the revenue.Keep a close eye on the market or do a little market research yourself to explore your expansion plans.
  2. Can your cash flow support an expansion or will you have to do significant borrowing to cover the cost of setting up a new branch with more employees and goods?
  3. Check the market.A recession or wars or even a sharp reduction of the international dollar value are not good times to think of expansion. People tend to be cautious and spend less to avoid problems. So wait and watch.
  4. Expansion means delegation. You’ve got to get used to someone working under you or even independently taking care of your new business baby.
